Reinmar Seidler studies the changing relationships of biodiversity and other natural capital to economic development processes. He has published widely on topics ranging from disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in mountain landscapes to the institutional and policy resources required for ‘green’ development. He is currently involved in multidisciplinary research projects with indigenous smallholder agriculturalists in the Indian East Himalaya and in Costa Rican highland rain forest. He holds a PhD in Environmental Biology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he lectures on biodiversity conservation, sustainability science and climate change.
