OpenTEK platform

We are creating a web-based platform which will contain both a Citizen Science component and a research networking component.

Through the Citizen Science component of the platform, any citizen in the world will be able to contribute information on local indicators of climate change impacts. Platform users will be guided to provide different types of information, forming a worldwide observation network for the long-term monitoring of local indicators of climate change impacts.

A strong focus on social network aspects will foster connections between researchers and practitioners interested in exploring how local knowledge systems contribute to our understanding of climate change. Members will have access to tools to facilitate exchange of knowledge and data, as well as to connect to other members based on common interests, expertise or geographical location.

The platform is free and open source from early on. If you are interested to find out more get in touch!
