Andrea Izquierdo

Andrea is PhD in Biology from National University of Córdoba, Argentina. She is a researcher at the Institute of Regional Ecology (IER) of the CONICET and National University of Tucumán, Argentina. She is an ecologist who has used geographic information systems, demographic analyses and dynamics models to understand land-use change and its socioeconomic causes at regional scales. Her current research focuses on the implications of land-use changes in the climate change context on the socio-ecosystem of the Argentine Puna. In the LICCI she will assess local knowledge and indicators of climate change of indigenous and rural communities from the Puna; a high-elevation subtropical plateau situated above 3200 masl with trends to drier and warmer conditions.
