My name is Alick Haruhiru from the Solomon Islands. After graduating at the University of the South Pacific (USP) with Masters of Science in Climate Change, I work as a Climate Researcher at Solomon Islands Meteorological Service (SIMS). I join SIMS in 2017 and lead research activities and collaboration. My research interest focuses on behavior of tropical cyclone, climate variability, and impacts of climate change on sectors, and traditional knowledge in the South Pacific Island Countries.
Currently, I supervise and do data collection in an ongoing SIMS Traditional Knowledge (TK) project on weather and climate prediction for Solomon Islands. In complementing SIMS TK project, I have recently joined the LICCI Team for collecting data on climate change indicators in selected Solomon Islands communities.
